University Of Lagos (UNILAG) Cut Off Mark

A cut off mark is the minimum score a candidate must obtain in an entrance exam like UTME to qualify for admission. It serves as a screening tool used by institutions to select eligible applicants. The score is influenced by factors such as the number of applicants and available admission slots.

Meeting the cut off mark makes a candidate eligible to apply for admission. However, it does not guarantee automatic admission.

Cut off marks vary across institutions and courses depending on competitiveness. Highly sought-after courses like Medicine and Law usually have higher cut off marks.

University Of Lagos (UNILAG) JAMB Cut Off Mark

The management of University of Lagos (UNILAG) has released the UNILAG JAMB Cut Off Mark and has fixed it at 200.

This simply implies that candidates must achieve a minimum of 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME before they eligible for admission at University of Lagos (UNILAG)

However, UNILAG is a very competitive course as such, candidates applying to study competitive courses must score far above the fixed cut off mark to be eligible for admission.

UNILAG Post UTME Requirements

  • Candidates who selected the University of Lagos as their first choice in the 2025/2026 UTME and scored 200 or above are eligible to apply for the Post-UTME Online Screening. Additionally, applicants must have obtained five (5) credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects—including English Language and Mathematics—at a single sitting.
  • Only candidates who upload their O’Level results to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before September 9, 2025, will be considered for admission.
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old by October 31, 2025, to be eligible. Those who do not meet this age requirement should not apply.
  • Participation in the Post-UTME Online Aptitude Test is mandatory; candidates who fail to take the test will not be considered for admission.
  • Former students of the University of Lagos whose admissions were withdrawn due to poor academic performance or absence may reapply, provided they are seeking admission into a different programme from the one previously offered.
  • However, students who were expelled from the University are not eligible for readmission under any circumstances.

How To Calculate UNILAG Post UTME Cut Off Mark

UNILAG uses a specific grading system for O’Level results. The grade points are as follows:

A1 = 4.0

B2 = 3.6

B3 = 3.2

C4 = 2.8

C5 = 2.4

C6 = 2.0

Step 1: Calculate Your O’Level Score

Let’s say you have the following grades in the five relevant subjects: A1, B3, B2, C4, and B2.

That gives you:

4.0 (A1) + 3.2 (B3) + 3.6 (B2) + 2.8 (C4) + 3.6 (B2) = 17.2 points

Step 2: Divide Your UTME Score by 8

If you scored 256 in UTME:

256 ÷ 8 = 32

Step 3: Add Your POST UTME Score (out of 30)

Assume you scored 22 out 30

22 plus 30 equals 52
